To Kiev We Have Arrived

(Kiev, Ukraine)

It’s official, Grant and I have left snowy Innsbruck for… snowier Kiev. Don’t get us wrong, we are happy and excited for the new adventure. And Kiev is such a different and vibrant city, that once we grasped how to walk along the snowy sidewalks without slipping, and discovered an underground shopping center that traverses the main part of down town, we were off and running.

Kiev is the capital and largest city in Ukraine. It is located in the north, center part of the country. The classic style buildings and domed churches have already captured our hearts. We lucked out on the apartment rental as it is just right in the heart of down town and very convenient, with coffee shops and trendy restaurants right outside of our doorstep.

The weather has teased us with one or two days of beautiful, sunny weather interspersed with snowy, cloudy days, but we look forward to keeping you updated of the weather and the photos of our adventures flowing. Until then, we hope you enjoy these pictures before the snow disappears completely to make way for Spring:

(Maidan “Independence” Square, where the 2004 – 2005 Orange Revolution and 2013-2014 Euromaidan demonstrations occurred)
