In Hawaii, we don’t really get to experience seasons and we don’t get to see leaves changing color and falling. In Zürich, Grant and I were delighted to see the beautiful hues of red, orange, brown, tan, and yellow as the Autumn season was upon us. The colors complement this old city well and lends a certain charm that we will never forget.
I hope you enjoy this photo tour.
A river near the place we stayed at:
At a nearby park. What was memorable about this park, and I’ve seen this in other parts of Europe during my travels, is a wood frame with bits of wood piled inside and wire mesh wrapping the outside. I couldn’t figure out what this curious object standing in this park was. There was a plaque hanging on the side of one of the wood panels with the description of “bug hotel”.
A view up the river from Bürkliplatz in the city center:
Grossmünster Church, one of four famous churches that dot the old town area of Zürich:
Another one of the main churches that make up the city’s skyline, St. Peter Church:

Beautiful red hues of the vines on this bridge leading to Lindenhof Park:

Views from the ridge of this park over-looking the city. Lindenhof park is highly recommended to visit if you are in Zürich and provides panoramic views of the buildings and nearby hills:
