Um . . . ew.
From what I am able to discern, this is a skin-tightening lotion product.
There is a music video that goes along with it, but they chose to use the image of the girl when she looked like she had been crying. For an outsider, this definitely doesn’t entice me to purchase the product. Though it was such an odd advertisement that I DID go and research what it was.
We noticed also that there seemed to be a new fad among the younger girls in Japan to wear their eye makeup in such a way that they looked sickly. They do this by lining their eyes with red eyeliner or red eyeshadow. Maybe this ad is responding to that (or encouraging the trend).
Either way, this ad was lost on us.
